The Signature Difference

Personal Attention Makes The Difference!

Personal attention and expertise is what it takes to help racing greyhounds achieve their own performance potential. This means on the farm — and at the racetrack. A greyhound can start to be conditioned from the day they are whelped. Providing greyhounds with personal attention when they are pups helps them gain confidence and develop into racers who are sure of themselves around their peers.

Once a greyhound reaches the racetrack, if they are comfortable around their handlers — they are more responsive to training. This is an essential component which can mean the difference of raising average and superior racing greyhounds. The way a greyhound is handled and trained during their developmental stages can make the difference!

The right combination of handling, conditioning, worming, pest control and feeding is all it takes to develop a race dog that makes a top track versus a lower-tier track. Too many greyhound owners in the industry are paying premium boarding rates for less. Give your dogs every chance that they deserve — give them the best!

When our greyhounds reach the racetrack, they will be:

  • Lead broken
  • Will jump into their crates (in most cases)
  • Comfortable in the turnout pen with their kennel mates
  • Accustomed to a racing diet
  • Familiar with all aspects of kennel life
  • in optimal physical condition for the track trainer

Each of these factors makes transition into their racing careers seamless and more beneficial for both the racing kennels and greyhound owners. The racing kennel trainer will not have to spent as much time morning schooling and getting your greyhounds fit for racing. This saves everybody time.

Also, the convenience of being in Abilene includes being able to finish your greyhounds on an aldritt lure. This is the same type of lure that is used at racetracks across the country. Usually schooling tracks have rope lures and there is some transition time for greyhounds once they reach the racetrack to learn how to chase the different type of lure. Schooling dogs in Abilene will alleviate this and your greyhound should make the transition much easier.

I had Ken and Wendy take a litter off a rope track in Ok that need to see a Aldritt lure. I figure it saved me at least 6 weeks time at the race track that they were racing and not taking up space of dogs that could be on the active list, racing. It was well worth the cost. They did a great job.
